Ophthalmologist | M.D. of Medicine | Bachelors of Science in Biology and Chemistry

Dr. Trenity (Trent) McKinney was born and raised in Amarillo, TX.In high school he discovered his love for medicine and began to work with a local ophthalmologist and soon discovered his passion.

He attended West Texas A&M University with a double major of Biology and Biochemistry. He met the love of his life at college, Christie and married her after his first year of Medical School. He attended UT Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, TX, which is one of the leading medical schools in the country. He then went on to complete his Ophthalmology Residency at Texas Tech University Medical Center in Lubbock, TX.  

He and his wife were drawn to the ocean and dreams of scuba diving so they found themselves here in Venice, FL in 2005.  They moved 1,800 miles away from home with a new baby and 2 dogs in tow to start working with Dr. Richard A. Conroy. The practice emulated the ethics and patient centered care that he found was slipping away in medicine and knew this is where God wanted him. His practice grew and so did his family as they brought their 2nd baby boy into the world in 2007. He purchased the practice from Dr. Conroy 2011 and then moved the practice to its current location in 2016. 

Through the years employees have come and gone but one thing remains constant, his love, care and concern for his patients and helping them achieve the best vision possible.
