OASIS BEGINNINGS
Dr. McKinney joined Dr. Richard A Conroy back in August of 2005. He wanted to join a practice that held strong ethical values while putting the patients first. In 2012, Dr. Conroy decided to retire to travel and spend time with his kids and grandkids. We still see him and retirement suits him well. Dr. McKinney kept the values that the practice was founded on and began to invest in state of the art technology that would bring the clinic to a whole new level. In 2016, the current building was purchased and renovations began. Rebranding of the practice also began.
Dry Eye Disease is so prevalent and Dr. McKinney is passionate about making sure the whole eye is healthy. The ocular surface had been ignored for so long within the field and only within the last 30 years had it been studied and now light is being shed on Dry Eye Disease. Oasis Eye Care was birthed as we decided we want to bring those dessert feeling eyes to the Oasis! Not only that but we truly live in a beautiful place that to us is an Oasis.
OUR STORY
DESIGNING OASIS
We wanted the logo to reflect the vision of the practice with the Oasis theme but also to serve another purpose in pointing to the strong faith we have in the Lord. If you look closely within the shape of the eye you will also see the ichthus. This was a symbol used in the first century to denote a safe place for persecuted Christians or to say that you were a follower of Jesus. Even the name of the LLC holding company has meaning Psalms 90:17, “May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us— yes, establish the work of our hands.” We strongly believe this is the work that God has established and called us to and we want His favor not only for ourselves but also for our patients.
THE BRAND
OASIS MED SPA
Optical Impressions which was somewhat of a separate entity at the old building soon followed suit and became Oasis Optical. This is truly the most beautiful part of our building with the wood tray ceiling, rock column and little ball chandeliers!
With the space and some new equipment, we purchased, we decided to create a Med Spa within the practice. At first it was just going to be for Dry Eye Treatments but why not have an aesthetician come in and use the space when it isn’t being used for eyes and hence Oasis Med Spa was born.
GROWING THE BUSINESS
NOW, WE ARE IN GROWTH PHASE.
Dr. Brocato joined our practice in January of 2021 and he truly has been an asset and pleasure to work with. Patients love him and most importantly he agrees with the philosophy of the practice to provide excellent care with a servant’s heart.
At Oasis Eye Care, Optical and Med Spa we aim to be a family within our staff and our patients are just an extension of that family. We want each person to be treated with the upmost respect and to receive care that is specific to their needs.
